PERMANENT VISAS / GREEN CARDS

A foreign person wishing to immigrate to the United States permanently needs to obtain permanent residence ("green card"). GC UNGO handles a variety of Green Card options on behalf of individuals, families or employees.

The process of obtaining a Green Card involves either applying while the person is in the United States through an adjustment of status application or outside the United States, via a procedure called consular processing an immigrant visa. At offset of our representation we will determine your eligibility for the Green Card and which immigration avenue is available and/or optimal for your case

Immigration to the United States also depends on the type of family relationship you have for family-based petitions and on the applicant's specific set of skills for employment-based petitions.

For employment-based cases, each Green Card category will have specific steps, immigration options and the process is often be long and complex. We offer tailored immigration strategies and an internal streamlined process designed to make our client's experience stress-free.

FAMILY BASED PETITIONS

Bringing your family to the United States is an important and complex decision. There are different types of immigrant visas, immigration categories, required forms, and multipart steps in the process. I-130 petitions often require considerable documentation and the bona fide nature of the qualifying relationship must be carefully explained.

GC UNGO has vast experience in this area of practice. We will be closely involved in every step of the case preparation process and guide clients through the information and documentation gathering process. We handle Green Cards through Marriage and Family Based Green Card Petitions both internationally (via Consular Process) and in the United States (via Adjustment of Status).

In family-based matters, we often provide strategic advice prior to marriage regarding the best strategies to avoid periods of separation during administrative processing.

Petition to Remove Conditions of Residence:   if you were married for less than two years at the time you received your Green Card, you will be required to “Remove the Conditions” 90 days before you card expires so that you may obtain Legal Permanent Resident Status. Whether you are divorced or still with your spouse, GC UNGO can help you obtain your permanent status in the United States.
